Analyses of the Scoring of Writing Essays For the Pennsylvania System of Student Assessment

Pennsylvania scores student writing samples on five domains. Scores on the five domains are highly correlated. This paper explores the correlations among the domains and addresses the issue of how much information provided about each domain is unique.
