Martineau_RILS – Brief on NGSS Measurement Models and Equating – Final

This paper was presented in September, 2017 at the Center for Assessment annual Reidy Interactive Lecture Series. It addresses science assessments that are based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Because the NGSS are structured so differently, states will need to contend with some critical issues in selecting a measurement model and developing and implementing equating designs. This paper is intended to help states think through those issues with their technical advisory committees.
