Pandemic Impacts and Recovery Efforts: Shelby County

In this RILS 2022 presentation, Adam Hicks discusses the particular impacts that the pandemic had on the Shelby County school district in Kentucky, which is a smaller semi-urban, semi-rural district serving approximately 7,000 students in 13 schools. He discusses cultural practices, strategies, and data-based approaches to assessment and accountability that the district has put in place to engage in systematic recovery efforts. Along the way, he shares strategic insights and lessons learned that may be of use to other district and state leaders. After the two district presentations, he will take part in a panel discussion with opportunities for audience participation.
