Setting Standards Across Grades 3 through 8: It is more than choosing the right method

The Center organized a standard setting session for the 2004 Large-Scale Assessment conference. The session focused on standard setting as a process that begins with the development of content standards rather than with the selection of a method to assign cut points on a test. Presenters included Jeff Nellhaus of the Massachusetts Department of Education, Barbara Plake from the Buros Center for Testing, Mike Beck from BETA, Inc., and Charles DePascale from the Center.
