The Path Forward for School Accountability: Practical Ways to Improve School Accountability Systems Now (Webinar)

August 2, 2023 @ 3:00 pm 4:30 pm EDT

The last few years have produced a groundswell of interest in improving our school accountability systems. COVID-related school closures and a national reckoning with systemic racism have added urgency to calls for accountability reform.

We don’t refute calls for sweeping reform. But it’s also important to take action right now to improve accountability systems. In this webinar, you’ll explore the problems with accountability and five ways to improve it, even with the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act in place.

Moderator: Chris Domaleski, associate director

Participants: Juan D’Brot, Brian Gong (senior associates), Laura Pinsonneault and Chris Brandt (associates)

Date: August 2, 2023
Time: 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm Eastern

The Path Forward for School Accountability
The Brian Gong Colloquium

The Brian Gong Colloquium

This annual colloquium is named in honor of Brian Gong, the Center's Co-Founder and former Executive Director. Our aspiration for this internal event is to foster the intellectual curiosity, innovative thinking, and respectful discourse that Brian models. Our staff focuses on a topic that may be outside of their expertise but is likely to have a significant impact in our field of work. We spend one year gathering information on the topic, and we invite experts to join us for the colloquium to share information and engage in discussions.
