Annotated Assessment Peer Review Guidance

In 2015, the Center for Assessment worked with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) to develop this document annotating the assessment peer review guidance as of that time. This document dissects the peer review guidance by identifying “bite-size” chunks of the critical elements described in the guidance. The bite-size chunks are, in essence, statements that make claims about the state’s assessment system. The bite-size chunks are further annotated with potential sources of evidence to support the claims embodied in the bite-size chunks. Finally, the full set of content (the peer review guidance, but-size chunks, and potential sources of evidence are further interpreted through notes that, for example, reduce technical terms to layperson terms, identifying multiple possible interpretations, identifying links between different parts of the document, and so on.
