Setting Standards Across Grades 3 Through 8: More than Choosing the Right Method

The Center organized a standard-setting session for a 2004 conference. The session focused on standard-setting as a process that begins with the development of content standards, rather than with the selection of a method to assign cut points on a test. Presenters included Jeff Nellhaus of the Massachusetts Department of Education, Barbara Plake from the Buros Center for Testing, Mike Beck from BETA, Inc., and Charles DePascale from the Center.
