Using Multiple Achievement Measures to Understand the Effects of COVID-19 on Student Learning

This paper describes a set of studies conducted to help understand the effects of pandemic-related disruptions on students’ academic performance during the 2020-2021 academic year in the state of Utah. The purposes of these studies are to document overall trends in participation and achievement, document the influence of the pandemic on already-existing achievement gaps, and explore how opportunity-to-learn and other related information interact with the academic outcomes.
