When does a "Growth model" act the same as a "Status model"?: Lessons learned

Publication Date: 2007-09-25

Synopsis:

The presentation summarizes two empirical studies applying multiple growth models to common state data. Analyses found that growth models approved for the USED Growth Model Pilot were highly correlated with Status. Some growth models not approved were less strongly consistent with Status. Discussion includes explanations for the results and factors states should consider when designing a growth system for school accountability.
