This page contains guides for state and district leaders that help them plan, implement, monitor and improve badging systems used in place of conventional assessments.
The guides are written with practitioners in mind and are based on the experiences of partner states during a multi-year pilot. To help with the work, the guides include a series of action steps, sample resources, and templates for internal workflows. They will be periodically updated as new resources become available.
These guides were developed as part of our work on XQ Institute’s Math Badging Initiative, but they are valuable resources beyond that particular program since many of the steps can easily be adapted for other innovative educational initiatives.
